Takeaway of the Day
Sunny skies and summerlike warmth graced the Bay Area again today in locations near the bay and inland. By mid-afternoon, temperatures were in the mid-70s to near 80 degrees around the bay shoreline and upper 80s to low 90s inland. Early evening coastal cooling will bring temperatures down near the bay, but the warmth will be slower to recede in our inland communities.
The Look Ahead
A noticeably cooler pattern will begin tomorrow, but it will still be a very pleasant Mother's Day. We can expect sunny skies with high temperatures near the bay and inland about 10 to 16 degrees cooler than today's highs. Nonetheless, under bright skies, conditions will be mild enough for outdoor and backyard activities. There will be further cooling on Monday, with increasing clouds, gusty winds and showers. This will be a light Level 1 storm on the exclusive ABC7 Storm Impact Scale. Tuesday will bring sunny skies once again, along with a warming trend that will continue through the week.
